Swiss Vocational Education and Training Adapted for India
SkillSonics adapts key elements of the Swiss Vocational Education and Training model for India. It provides knowledge partnership to customers that run training programs in institutes, companies and public sector units. In particular, SkillSonics offers guidance, programs and services in Vocational Education and Training (VET) based on proven Swiss processes and methodologies.
SkillSonics has forged exclusive partnerships with Swiss organizations – The private industry association of the Swiss Mechanical and Electrical Manufacturing Industries (Swissmem) and Swiss Federal government Institute for Vocational Education and Training (SFIVET), to adapt the Swiss VET model to the Indian context. SkillSonics would empower 1 million Indian technicians to reach international skill levels with Swiss diploma/certificates by the year 2022.

Swiss VET Initiative NEWSLETTER 3/2015
The "Global Competitiveness Report" which appears annually measures the competitiveness of 140 nations. Only one thing in the ranking never changes: little Switzerland is always number 1 - for the seventh time in a row. India ranks 51. The fact is that solid vocational training is the key for a competitive economy. Although India has many university graduates, what is lacking is the skill-mix that also includes practically-trained professionals as in Switzerland. With SkillSonics we support know-how transfer between Switzerland and India - and vice versa. Well-trained professionals not only advance India but lead to increased economic exchange between both countries. With the Quality Assurance Project which trains trainers and examiners in India according to Swiss specifications, we are further strengthening the quality of Swiss vocational training in India.

Swiss VET Initiative NEWSLETTER 2/2015
Swiss skills stand for top performance worldwide. This is not only reflected in the numerous medals that the Swiss team brought home from the World Skills Competition in São Paulo, Brazil. Switzerland's vocational education and training approach is highly regarded abroad. This was confirmed to me by some of Switzerland's leading organizations in VET present in São Paulo such as the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI), the Association of Swiss Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Industries (Swissmem), the Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (SFIVET), foreign companies headquartered in Brazil and Brazilian enterprises. They emphasized the pressing need for top-quality training of professionals. In India, we have been providing VET training based on the Swiss vocational system since 2008 in response to a similar lack of well-trained technicians. Now we look forward to continue the expansion of our program throughout India and in other countries.
